INSOMNIA.

Insomnia adalah kesukaran untuk memulai tidur atau mempertahankan tidur (susah tidur). Biasanya ini disebabkan oleh gangguan di dalam waktu dan mekanisme tidur, hal ini juga biasanya diperberat dengan perilaku yang tidak sehat, seperti tidak teratur jam tidur, seringnya begadang dan mengkonsumsi sesuatu yang mengandung kafein seperti kopi dan rokok *bagi yang suka.
Berikut ini ada beberapa cara menghilangkan insomnia :

1. Melakukan Olahraga teratur. Olahraga sebaiknya dilakukan pada pagi hari, dan bukan beberapa menit menjelang tidur. Dengan berolahraga, kesehatan menjadi lebih optimal sehingga tubuh dapat melawan stress yang muncul dengan lebih baik.
2. Menghindari makan dan minum terlalu banyak menjelang tidur. Makanan yang terlalu banyak akan menyebabkan perut menjadi tidak nyaman, sedangkan minum terlalu banyak dapat menyebabkan terlalu sering ke belakang untuk buang air kecil, dan kedua hal ini akan mengganggu kenyamanan tidur.
3. Mengurangi mengkonsumsi minuman yang mengandung stimulan (yang membuat anda terjaga) seperti teh, kopi, alkohol dan rokok.
   
4. Makan makanan ringan yang mengandung sedikit karbohidrat menjelang tidur, dan bila tersedia, tambahkan dengan segelas susu hangat.
5. Mandi/berendam dengan air hangat 30 menit atau sejam sebelum tidur. Air hangat akan menyebabkan efek sedasi atau merangsang tidur, selain itu juga untuk mengurangi ketegangan tubuh.
6. Berhenti menonton TV dan membaca buku 1 jam sebelum tidur.
7. Menjernihkan pikiran. Hilangkan segala kekhawatiran yang menghinggapi pikiran.
8. Tidur dan bangun dalam periode waktu yang teratur setiap hari.
